Best Industrial Fans helps people choose fans for garages, workshops, barns and commercial spaces. The site is independent and maintained by Joe S. It is paid for by affiliate commissions, never by manufacturers, and no brand can buy a place in our picks.

We try to answer the questions a spec sheet leaves open. How much airflow does this space actually need? Should the air be moved around or brought in from outside? Which of two similar fans is the better fit?

Where our numbers come from

Every important specification on a product page links to its source: a manufacturer page, spec sheet or manual where one exists, otherwise the retail listing, marked as such. When sources disagree we say so rather than picking the flattering number. When a value isn't published, the page says it isn't published instead of estimating it.

We keep a record of every source, the date we checked it, and the exact wording it uses. When we find a changed rating or a discontinued model, the page changes with it.

How we choose picks

Picks on our "best" pages come from a published method that uses only documented data: airflow for the size class, airflow per watt, published sound levels, construction, motor details, warranty, and practical details like cord length and portability. The method, and what it can't tell you, is on how we choose fans.

Research, not a testing laboratory

Unless a page describes a hands-on test and its method, our analysis is based on published specifications and documented product information. We don't claim to have tested a product just because it appears on the site, and we don't invent ratings or reviews.

Corrections

When a rating changes or a model is discontinued, we check the manufacturer's current documentation and update the page. Corrections change a page's "last reviewed" date; routine rebuilds don't.
